UTERI.I
Investigating the disruptive contingencies of medical imagery protocols, Uterii is an interdisciplinary research proposal for a collective reconfiguration of Uterus’s visualisation.
Looking at both theoretical and technical realms, the project aims to create an assemblage of subjective Uteruses meanwhile (hopefully) revealing some of the normative bias embed in gynaecological visualisation apparatuses. Further, it inquires how joyful and discursive the creation of collective data sets can be, by means of machine hacking and shared intimacies.
Uterii currently consists of open-events through which participants engage in re-shaping the Uterus (using mostly clay), under different visual circumstances (e.g. influenced by medical imagery, looking at CT scan protocols, analysing MRI). Later-on the discussions, shapes and other traces are archived as semiotic material within an open-access database (currently google drive :( ). Aside this discursive approach, I currently work on unpacking several visualisation method’s protocols, looking for potential phallogocentric bias. Technical discoveries which will later be made available through tailor made machines, revealing, simplifying and enabling a new imagery.

As settled and fixed as this description might sound, I can only testify of this research's unpredictability and positive inconsistency.
Therefore, many of the here-above mentioned aspects are open to change along the project’s evolution.

ARCHIVE
This archive works as a navigation platform through the diverse material collected, shared and generated during Uterii’s ongoing research.
-Context: Site research (e.g. protocol, imagery and machine visual archive; Bibliography)
-Moments: Audio-visual records of Uterii’s “events”.
-Techne: Technical critical unpacking. Access to github, thingiverse, technical files and research of the project;
-Database: Archive of the datasets created during Uterii’s moments. (e.g. CGI models, audio-visuals, words datasets...)
-Theory: Project reports.
Current archive is process based == chaotic. It will improve with time.
